BOZEMAN - Some cabins near Old Faithful, in Yellowstone national Park, may be reopened to visitors after being shut down for more than 25 years.

YNP officials are asking for public comment on possibly returning 67 lodge cabin units to their original historic use as visitor accommodations.

For the past decade, the cabins have been used as employee lodging, but the plan is to build a new dormitory in the Old Faithful area to accommodate the displaced employees.

You can submit comments online by filling out the environmental assessment at the National Park Service Planning, Environment and Public Comment website. To request a hard copy of the environmental assessment you can call (307)-344-2221. Written comments may be submitted through the PEPC website, in person or by writing to the Old Faithful Cabin Repurposing Plan EA, National Park Service, P.O. Box 168, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming 82190.

All public comments must be submitted by Feb. 26 in order to be counted.
